AMSTERDAM - With the official support from Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands and with special support from Embassy of the Netherlands in Japan, Pride House Tokyo will be part of Amsterdam Gay Pride’s Canal Parade on August, 3rd 2019.

About us
‘Pride House Tokyo’
Pride House Tokyo is a pop-up initiative to be held while Japan hosts the Rugby World Cup in September 2019 and the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. Pride House will be providing a safe space for LGBT athletes and allies to gather and aims to promote the understanding of LGBT and other sexual minorities through events and content related to diversity We have been invited to join the Amsterdam Gay Pride to better promote our initiative and ideal globally as well as domestically

Theme of the boat
'DE LIEFDE' (The love)
Named after the first Dutch ship to arrive in Japan on April 19, 1600, and called ‘the love’, the boat symbolises the love and hope we believe can overcome discrimination through sports. We also see this as a way to see the love return back again from Amsterdam in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 420th anniversary of the two nations’ first contact

The message of the boat
‘See you in Tokyo’
Pride House Tokyo would like to welcome all LGBT athletes, allies and their friends to Japan. We want people from all over the world to know at the Pride House Tokyo there will always be a safe place for them to gather during their stay.
